Hoopty Doo!

January is almost over... (and the January blahs). Does everyone have the let down from the holidays???
I just got on line and found some wallpaper border for my (granny's prayer room). I am excited to get it and see how it is going to work out. You never know until you see it. I couldn't find what I was really looking for, so found one with a picture by Thomas Kincaid. It is a white stairway in a beautiful garden, which reminds me of the stairway to heaven.
My grandaughters, gave us vinyl lettering for our wall for Christmas.....it was really nice, but guess what? The paint on our walls will not let it stick to them! Disappointment to them and myself, I must say! It was such a nice gift. Brian and Melissa and girls gave us a special picture to go on the wall and it will look nice in the little (prayer room) also. I am going to keep really busy in February, so as to keep up good spirit! I am not trying to wish our life away, but these are two very hard months it seems like every year, no matter how hard we try or where we live. I know that "old Satan" just loves us during this time and darn it he isn't going to get us this month.
Nisha and Jeep you and anyone who wants to drop by are very welcome. Would love it! just call us at 387-5132 and let us know so we are at home. Our house number is 645. We are going to get our name in vinyl for the front door so people can find us......and if it won't stick I will paint the door!!!!!
Love all your blogs and always look forward to new ones!
Love you all!

Fun Day!

Kendra and the baby have the giggles!
Great-Grandpa and Kendra playing Dollies!

Monday was such a fun day! Our Grandaughter's Crystal and her baby Kendra came to spend the afternoon. We had so much fun! As we visited we made lots of candy and played with little Kendra. What a little cutie she is... and so much fun! Grandpa Swede and Kendra played dollies for a long time, watched movies. Kendra danced for us and she ate the whole time she was here. Of course she loved the candy best of all and was our little sampler......we know she belongs to us because she loves that chocolate! Today, we heard she didn't want to eat any dinner last night though.....imagine that!.....the candy was so much better! Kendra gave lots of kisses to Grandpa and loved the baby doll, as it would talk in baby sounds, sucking sounds when drinking her bottle and even burped really loud when she fed it. She couldn't figure out why that baby doll snored when it fell asleep. We need Kendra here more.....don't think Grandpa Swede moved from playing with her all afternoon. When she left she gave him about a dozen kisses and would clap her hands after each kiss. In the past she didn't like his mustache tickling her and I think she was really proud of herself! Anyway, Great-Grandpa sure loved her and we all had so much fun together!

Happy Birthday Debbie! and more.

I have so much to write about.....I am a very blessed person! My good friend Karen LaOrange, invited me to go to the temple last Saturday! We did one session....what a great day! I know it is just what I needed. I had a wonderful experience! I did the work for a little lady from the Netherlands, born in the 1700's. Her names were the same as my own..(not coincidence, but amazing!) the weather was warm and beautiful. They were planting flowers on the temple grounds already. Sunday, when I went to church I felt so good, although my records still haven't been read in my new ward yet... I think that might be my problem?.....I joke about it saying I feel like a man without a country!....this week is Stake Conference, so it won't happen then either. During the week my brother David and mom Marie came to visit. It was so nice to see them. They brought me a beautiful picture of Christ, by Greg Olsen and a pretty white lamp for my house. It was a special day!
Our daughter Debbie was married on January 17th in Las Vegas to Craig Halverson, they are so happy and we are happy for them. It was her birthday on the 20th and we celebrated at DeAnn's for dinner and Birthday Cake. It was really nice. DeAnn posted pictures on her blog of it.
I will post pictures of the wedding as soon as I get them down loaded.
My brother, Gary, who lives in Beaver, has been really sick for a couple of weeks. He was in the Cedar Hospital! He went to emergency there. Even though he was under doctors care in Beaver, he became so dehyderated. He has a kidney transplant so it was really serious. The kidney could have quit working. He is home now, but still very ill. He was allergic to the meds he was put on and couldn't swallow for days. He is such an example of endurance to me. I put his name on the prayer roll at the temple. I just love my family so much and it's hard to see them hurting.....I pray for them everyday.
Tomorrow, Swede goes to the VA Hospital in Orem,, to the doctor and then on to Salt Lake for a cat-scan of his lungs. It is just his check up time. Sure hope the weather is good and all goes well.
Spring will be here before we know it.....I can go for that! Like that warm weather!
I talked to my good friend Nona, who lives in Winnemucca, this week. It is always nice to talk with her. I really miss her. We have lots in common. Her husband is having Gall Bladder Surgery this week.
My first cousin Mary's husband in Salt Lake is having surgery on Monday for colon cancer. I pray for him also. This has been one heck of a week! So much going on....I hope next week has all positive come to it.
I will post a picture of Debbie, being as it was her birthday on the 20th and our Laurie's was on the 16th. January and February are always both happy and sad months. We lost our Laurie and Swede's Mom in February. But had three beautiful daughters and a grandaughter born in those months and Swedes mom's birthday was Jan. 19th.
This is a pretty crazy life! full of so much, both happy and sad, but that is just what life was meant to be, so we can learn from it!
I have so much to be thankful for! and it is so fun to read and see all the neat blogs of our family and friends. All those little ones are just adorable and bring so much joy to our lives. Computer technology is wonderful!

I'm so blessed!

After the last depressing blog........I know I am so blessed. Does it take days like these to wake us up and think only of our great blessings? I am so blessed! I have a loving husband....our three children all live here in Milford. They are so wonderful, loving, thoughtful and helpful! What would we do without them? I especially miss our son and daughter, and all our loved ones who have already passed through the veil. I realized today that this time of year I always miss them so much! It doesn't matter how long they have been gone, it never really helps. The hole in your heart never heals. But, now I must remember where they are and Heavenly Father's plan. They are in a better place than we are! A great blessing!

God does answer Prayers!

Sometimes I feel so un-grateful! This week has been kind of a down week, Maybe because Swede and I have felt a little under the weather. ... but, I have to humble myself and admit I was feeling kind of sorry for myself.
I changed wards...I did bear my testimony last week, but didn't really feel good about it, and trembled the whole time and didn't really say what was truly in my heart. I loved everyone elses testimony. Everyone in my new ward was so nice and really welcomed me. Gospel Doctrine class and the lesson was really good. Relief Society was wonderful too, and I know most all of the sweet sisters. I'm not sure what was wrong with me!#?? Did I leave my comfort zone? Was I having a panic attack? Was I sad to leave my calling? People who I really love? I can go on and on......So I have spent alot of time on my knees this week. I didn't like feeling this way.
I know this was an answer to my prayers, when sister Ashley, called me and ask if I would like to help her with her R.S. lesson this Sunday?... I know Heavenly Father heard my prayers, knew my feelings and that I was trying to overcome whatever was bothering me. Honestly, I'm not sure what was wrong with me. There are just so many great people in the 3rd ward. In fact everyone is....I sat in my usually seats (creature of habit I am).
I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father and His love for me and all of us. I am thankful that I can be forgiven for my imperfections....and last, but not least, that He hears my prayers. And I know and love the people in the 3rd ward very much too.
I am looking forward to this Sunday! I know we are happier when we are in service of our God, and we can grow from the experience and I know our testimonies grow from them.
Ok! Now, I just poured my heart out! I will be alright and will be happy!
Love you all!

More pictures of our house.

Grandpa Swede's room...Craig (Debbie's fiance) gave him the beautiful painting on the wall for Christmas! It is a large moose with a real arrow on the bottom of it
This is the small bathroom...it has a tub/with shower.

This is a huge bathroom, with the mirror and vanity the full length of the room...it has a double walk-in shower. At the end of the room is a door into a very large walk in closet.

Master Bedroom, although you can't tell how big it is. This is a California King Bed.

Here is some pictures of our dining and kitchen area. To the left of the kitchen is a glass door which goes out onto a large completely covered patio. To the right of it is a large laundry room and the door into the double car plus, garage. Automatic door opener also. We are in heaven. This is the first new house we have ever owned. Our family all just fixed us up with some really lovely things for our house! We are spoiled!
I need to take outside pictures, but I don't think you want to see all the snow...it wouldn't do the home justice. I failed to take a picture of the small 3rd bedroom. I have the computer in it a T.V. and a couple of chairs....it is in the picture where my previous Christmas Tree and Lindsey Blog was. Swede calls it Grandma's Prayer room. I don't have it decorated yet, as I want it to be really special!
I will add a picture of our large entrance way. It is pictures of all the little one's, at another time, when I get it finished.

PICTURES OF MY NEW HOME

The Front room, Dining room, and kitchen are all open. It has a vaulted ceiling. My favorite is our new intertainment center.....and finally it was delivered on Christmas eve morning. I think I love it so much because I could put my picture of Christ above it and my plague the says, "Christ is the center of our home, a quest at every meal, a silent listener to every conversation". Our new matching leather recliners and love seat that has the double recliner is really nice too. Only one thing wrong with it....we fall asleep when we sit on them!
