Inspired by Crystal.....

Yes...as I said on my comment to DeAnn's blog...Crystal could inspire me too!...and she did just that. Isn't the new background cute?..love it!..thanks to Crystal!
DeAnn, Crystal and Kendra have visited us and while here Crystal helped me with my blog!...thanks Crystal!
They brought Papa Swede, a Strawberry Shake...he wasn't feeling well. But, little Kendra always brightens up our day! What a little ham!...she calls me "Gama"...she loves our beds and loves to get on them for some reason. Goes from rocking chair to the next, to rock...yes we have 4 of them and she makes the rounds in them all! And not yet 2 years old until Sept 22,... she talks, and does American sign language as she does it....it is so darn cute!...of course she finds the big Candy Jar and knows there is always a treat in there for her. She also knows where the cupboard of cookies, crackers and snacks are!...we love it when all of our family come to visit us! those little ones bring us such happiness! Love those big hugs and kisses!
Well, I have to admit I have been spending far to much time on Facebook....although I love to chat with our family...even from Sweden. And I have made a great friend from S.C. on chat...she is such a nice lady and her name is Sue! I won't even mention "Farm Town" on it...I spend hours on!...should have been a real farmer!.. The world of technology is amazing!....as the 4th of July draws near, I remember it wasn't that many years since we only had radio...and I can remember that in my life. I remember when there weren't many cars and we walked everywhere....the telephone, that I had to stand on a chair and talk into the receiver on a box, which hung on the wall, while holding the ear phone to my ear to listen through! We cranked a little handle on the side of the box to get the operator who said "number please!...you would then tell her the number....sometimes I didn't know it and would tell the operator..."I want to talk to my grandma...some how she knew who I wanted to speak to and would put my call through anyway! I remember one time I couldn't find my mom, so I called the operater and ask her if she knew where my mama was?...she just ask who my mama was and told me she wasn't far away and would be there soon...sure enough she was! she had such taken something across the street to our neighbor........Wow, times have changed! We all have Cell Phones! Now, instead of writing letters to our families & friends, who live in other towns, and hardly saw one another, all we have to do is get on a computer, or get in our cars to see and talk to them.
Well, until next time......when I post some pictures....stay well, safe, I miss you and love you all very much!
And Happy Fathers Day to all the Father's out there! And especially to my husband!

Really special visit!

Our niece...Carroll Jean....(Swede's brother Carroll's daughter) and her friend, partner Joe, came to visit on Tues. for the day, from Florida!...our kids DeAnn and Russ, Jeff, Debbie and Craig all visited with us all.....It has been just years since we have seen them. Swede's brother Carroll, passed away last November 18th. We don't see many relatives often on his side of the family...they live far away. Russell Johnson, from Salt Lake calls, email and brings his mom Norine to vist us from Salt Lake more often. It is always a real treat to be with family!
Don't know why the pictures were taken in the garage?.....

Baby Taton's first visit to Grammies and Grandpa's.

Three days old....Kerstin and baby Taton look like "twins" in their newborn pictures.
Kerstin and Tyson are having such a good time with their new baby...Kerstin is feeling great!
and of course already dressing her in dresses and bows....Grandpa Kip has Camo...already bought for her!
Grandpa says Taton wanted him to hold her!...she is a really good baby...slept the night through her first night home! Parent's are so lucky!

Taton Jane Sherwood

Welcome home Taton!...you have so many people who love you!

Taton is 15 hours old...and changing all the time...she looks alot like her mommy! she has really big blue eyes!

One eye opened...she doesn't like the flash of all the camera's, they make her jump!..she has long fingernails and has been scratching her little face....had to have her hands covered.

Taton, with her little bear Grandpa Jeff bought her.
Kerstin, won't let her go to the nursery...wants her at her side all the time.

Kerstin has always been Jeff's little "Spud"...so Taton is "Tator Tot"...he says when she gets bigger he will call her T.J.

We love you so much and really miss you!.....you are so far away.

I am now writing down everything I learn because I can write really well, but just can't remember....."Now What Was I just Saying"..(he he)

I am going to Beaver today to get flowers for my flower pots!... Now, what kind to buy??? The exterior of my house is a different color than my old house. Decisions, decisions!

HAPPY 32nd WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!

We want to wish our daughter DeAnn and son, Russell Holm, a very happy wedding anniversary.....sorry I thought I had more pictures loaded on my computer, but can't find them. We are thankful for the wonderful man who has made our daughter and our family happy. He is a great man! Together they have had a great marriage, have worked hard at making it this way. They have taught and raised six great kids!.......We are proud of them! What a blessing for their children to all be sealed to their mom and dad. When we are young, sometimes we don't really acknowledge the importance and happiness this can bring, knowing they can be families together forever. DeAnn and Russell have been a great example to our family and have taught and loved their family so much ....teaching righteous principles! They have always been so good to us, as parents! Thank You! oh and I can't forget the great grandparents they are to nine and 1/2.
Wedding Day....30th April, 1977
13 May, 1978

Married and sealed for all eternity in the St George Temple...all other children were born under the covenant.

HAPPY EASTER!

Left to right..Grandaughter Crystal, great-grandaughter Neeley Ann, daughter DeAnn and son Jeff.
Grandaughter Kerstin with baby "Taton Jane"

Great-grandaughters Neeley Ann and sister Brylen Jean, with their mommy, our grandaughter Melissa who lives in Helper, Utah.

My brothers...Clint, Gary and Neil....Gary (middle) isn't in the party pictures (below) as he has been very ill, but is doing some better now.

At the surprise birthday party for my brother Clint (sitting) in Cedar City. My brother Neil who lives in Santaquin, picked me up in Milford and took me to the party. Was fun! Just wish Gary could have been there! The party was at his son Shaun Kinross's home.
***********
I have really been slacking on my blog...even though I have really enjoyed reading and commenting on everyone's! I was wondering when someone would catch up with me and thanks to my little "Lambfam", they did! And thanks to them for the invite to get busy! I needed that!

Well, I have been pretty busy, even if I'm not just sure just what I've been doing to make me that way!
I have visited with our grandchildren and great-grandchildren which has been really fun!
March 25th was Swede's and Melissa's, husband Brians, Birthday. We had a birthday dinner at DeAnn's for them. It was a spagetti dinner and everyone brought food, so it was really easy. The little ones were a blast!...Jace didn't like blue frosting on his piece of cake and little Neeley ate all his blue frosting and any other color she could get!....she loves that frosting! We all went together and bought a new patio table and chairs for grandpa Swede for his birthday and Brian got a Wii.
It wasn't even my birthday, and here came Jeff with a new flat screen monitor for my computer...everything else was new, but I insisted that my old monitor was just fine until some things wouldn't fit on the screen. Anyway that was really nice of him! I am sure I had driven him crazy with my old one being that he is a computer repairman. Now, I am all fixed up and will be using it alot on Geneology, being that a Stake Geneology Consultant is my new calling. I can't imagine that, because I am totally lost. I can do alot on the computer, but I am on Facebook too, now and it is driving me crazy. I think I am a little late to learn all this stuff!....oh well! they say practice makes perfect and I like a good challenge, even if you can't teach old dogs new tricks!
Kerstin, had a nice Baby Shower last Saturday!...Baby "Taton Jane", should arrive in about a month and we are getting really excited! This is going to be one (spoiled) loved child. She has everything except a diaper bag and enough clothes for 5 babies.
The same day my grandaughter Stephanie had a Mary Kay party that I went to, even though I can't really wear the make-up. It was fun visiting with my grandaughters Stephanie, Sara, Dayna and Kerstin and others.
My brother David came to visit us on two days and had lunch with us...he had to take his rules for the railroad and it was really nice to see him. Ran into my brother Ken and wife Paula, in Cedar one night at Lin's Market....loved it! My daughter Debbie, and I made a fast trip to Cedar for groceries.
I have talked to my Grandaughters Shanda (Laurie's daughter) and Lindsey (Lane's daughter) on the phone, who lives in Fernley,Nevada. Also, my good friend Nona from Winnemucca, who never forgets me and my neighbor who moved to Kentucky, last year. It is always so nice to hear from old friends.
On the sad side of things a friend of mine pasted away from Cancer last week and was laid to rest. We had lots of fun together when younger. She later worked as a conductor on the railroad and lived in Milford. We both lived in Beaver and she tended Laney for me when he was a little boy. My daughter DeAnn, took me to the funeral in Minersville that day.
I have taken a few pictures. I will post some of them each time I blog of family.
Last weekend I watched all the sessions of General Conference....it was really good and I always look so forward to it!...seems like the messages are always so uplifting and give such good instruction.
It is Easter already! Time does fly...was just telling my hubby that it isn't like when we had all the little ones!...it was so much fun back then. He will work the Airport all weekend and I will go to church on Sunday! I do have a new Easter outfit, but don't have a picture of it! The Easter Bunny bought it a little early! Probably won't even color eggs unless Kerstin comes by.... other years she has, but she has a new life this year. We'll see? It is always fun!
Everyone enjoy those little ones!....they are the best, and nothing brings more happiness!
Will try to blog sooner next time!
Until then have a wonderful Easter!....I love you all!

Blogging time again!

It is hard to see the border, but it is stairways, which remind me of the stairway to heaven.
The Book of Mormon's are the ones our son Lane wrote a message in to my husband and I. They are probably the last thing he could write. At this time he could no longer write, but had to print in them, before he lost the use of his hands and arms.....we really cherish them!
Vinyl lettering in my prayer room....I still need to put up the rest of it which says "Walk beside me".

My Valentine Flowers from my son, Jeff.

It has been awhile since I have blogged.... I will post a few pictures!
February has been quite a month!....it is getting closer to spring (and allergies..ugh!) tree pollen has already started! But, spring is always so beautiful.
I had a really nice Valentine! First thing Valentine morning, the door bell rang. A beautiful bouguet of flowers from my son, Jeff, arrived from the florist. I thought I had better water them, so took them to the sink to find they were silk flowers...you couldn't tell the difference. I love silks because they never die... my husband and Jeff, got a real laugh out of that, as did I! He was so thoughtful and I love him so much! My daughter, DeAnn's birthday was the next day the 15th, another special day...we celebrated it on Valentine's day..a day early. We had lots of fun visiting with everyone and the little ones were just so cute!
We went to DeAnn's a few nights ago for dinner...Melissa and girls, Rachel, and Lynette, and their boys were all there. The little ones are such a blast to watch and play with. Lance sat right beside Grandpa Swede and played with Noah's ark and all the animals. Little Luke was so cute too. He wouldn't take his eyes off Grandpa Swede for a long time, then he sat on my lap and we played. He is such a happy baby and just laughed so hard with great big belly rolls. His laugh is so contagious, he had me just laughing too...(Rachels boys). Melissa's little girl Neeley, is such a cute little girlie girl and so smart! She got right in there and played with all the boys, even though she is so petite. She said here ABC's for us and sang for us.Baby Brylen is just beautiful and such a little smiler, a really happy baby! Lynette's boys were so fun! Jaxon, is learning to talk and is so busy and cute and his big brother Jace, is really quite the big boy! I ask him what he did at pre-school? he told me he learned about trains, boats, airplanes, etc. I told him that they were transportation. A little later we ask him what transportation was and he told us "you ride". He's got quite the memory and also imagination! We played games with the little ones...of course Grandma DeAnn is good at this! Grandma Ann just helped a little with the hand and body movements. It was just so cute to watch. There is nothing more
precious than little children. I could just watch and listen to them forever!
I will post just a couple of pictures of my Prayer room as Grandpa Swede calls it!
Grandpa Swede has been pretty sick for a few days now.....he got a few shots and meds. Sure hope he feels better soon!
As my aunt once told me..."old age ain't for sissies". I would like to be able to do all the things I once could! But, oh well! we all get here eventually! I am so very blessed for all I can do and all I have learned! And for my loving family and friends and especially for the gospel in my life!

"Happy Anniversary Jeep and Nisha!!!"

We had a wonderful surprise this evening.....Nisha and Jeep stopped by! It is their anniversary and were out to celebrate. They were riding by and decided to stop....loved it! I gave them a tour of our new home! They are such great examples of true love for one another and of Christ-like love for others ! I really miss them in church. They have three of the cutest little children....I really miss seeing them.
Happy Anniversary and may you always be as happy as you are today!
Thank you for stopping by!
Love ya!

Happy 50th DeAnn

DeAnn blowing out her candles with help of her grandchildren!

Happy Birthday DeDe!... I love you, Mama

DeAnn with her "Sweetheart Russ"

She is such a cute birthday girl ..... such a good sport! with a great sense of humor!
DeAnn's Birthday was on February 15th...can hardly wait until that day in Feb. arrives! Everything gets better! She was a wonderful blessing born on this day to our family!
A surprise Birthday Party was given for her on Valentine's...Feb. 14th. She was really surprised and we had such a fun time! Her daughter, Rachel and family and son, Nils couldn't attend and were really missed. Her kids and grandchildren and brothers, sisters and parents were in attendance. It was really a blast. It was held at the City Office Bldg. The big sign out front was covered with "Happy 50th DeAnn" for the whole town to see!... and Mary Jo hung pictures of her all over town! She was dreading this birthday, but think she decided it was a great one! Melissa, did a good job of getting her out of town until time for the party by taking her to the Cheese Factory in Beaver.
There was lots of good food, and we all played fun games and visited! Also, fun party noise makers to greet her as she arrived! All her little grandkids had a blast and we all loved watching them.
I will post more pictures from the party! Crystal took alot. I am sure she will post them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEDE!

The best day out of the month of February is the 15th! oh I know I always dread this month for other reason's, but always stop to remember the greatest blessing in my life is in February...Feb. 15th, the day my daughter DeAnn was born! I agree it is a month of "Love"! I love my family so much! I want to tell you she gave so much to her sister Laurie with love. She shared her birthday with her....on her birthday she was laid to rest. Now, how much more loving and special can my precious daughter be? Well, she is so special and loving to her parents in every way! We are so blessed that we were picked out of all the other parents to receive her. She is thoughtful, loving, funny and keeps up my spirits all the time....a best friend, is so understanding and helpful. I thank God everyday for her!

Now, to... the not so serious side of things. If you need a good laugh, call DeAnn, if you need a helping hand, call DeAnn, good food! you can't out-do her! just ask her Dad? he gives her a bad time all the time, telling her he is starving (does he look like it!) and here she comes with dinner for him. She is a wonderful daughter, mother, wife and grandmother. She gives me little pep talks occasionally which lifts me up and I love spending time with her. Now, a word of advise to my DeDe. When you turn 50 you have earned the time in your life to take time for yourself! Without the word guilt in your thoughts! From now on time goes very fast!!! Live, Laugh, Love", and Relax.... Just a word from the wise, your old mother.

Special Day!

Today was a really special day for me!....I have a hard time going to the hospital since our Lane left us. But, today I went there for Relief Society.....I gave the lesson, which was actually a little talk and a poem about the Season's of Life. It is important to keep it simple and upbeat to those precious little ladies.....who are so full of love and appreciation. Two of the little ladies had a blank response when greeted, but when we turned the page in the song book for them to sing, they perked right up! they love the music... I must try to go visit them often. I do know most of them. I remember how much our Lane loved company! A little lady (Jetta) whom I did her hair for 15 years is there. She was happy to see me and told me she would just love for me to come and remarked that maybe I would take her for a ride. She cried and told me she was just so homesick. These little people are so close to the otherside. They are so close to the veil and so spiritual! I love them!
Well, maybe next week my membership in the 3rd ward will be read...it hasn't happened yet, but I am beginning to fit in.
I really miss my little friend Gladys whom I sat with every Sunday in the first ward. I visited their Gospel Doctrine Class on Sunday after going to all my blocks. Was nice to see everyone!

Hoopty Doo!

January is almost over... (and the January blahs). Does everyone have the let down from the holidays???
I just got on line and found some wallpaper border for my (granny's prayer room). I am excited to get it and see how it is going to work out. You never know until you see it. I couldn't find what I was really looking for, so found one with a picture by Thomas Kincaid. It is a white stairway in a beautiful garden, which reminds me of the stairway to heaven.
My grandaughters, gave us vinyl lettering for our wall for Christmas.....it was really nice, but guess what? The paint on our walls will not let it stick to them! Disappointment to them and myself, I must say! It was such a nice gift. Brian and Melissa and girls gave us a special picture to go on the wall and it will look nice in the little (prayer room) also. I am going to keep really busy in February, so as to keep up good spirit! I am not trying to wish our life away, but these are two very hard months it seems like every year, no matter how hard we try or where we live. I know that "old Satan" just loves us during this time and darn it he isn't going to get us this month.
Nisha and Jeep you and anyone who wants to drop by are very welcome. Would love it! just call us at 387-5132 and let us know so we are at home. Our house number is 645. We are going to get our name in vinyl for the front door so people can find us......and if it won't stick I will paint the door!!!!!
Love all your blogs and always look forward to new ones!
Love you all!

Fun Day!

Kendra and the baby have the giggles!
Great-Grandpa and Kendra playing Dollies!

Monday was such a fun day! Our Grandaughter's Crystal and her baby Kendra came to spend the afternoon. We had so much fun! As we visited we made lots of candy and played with little Kendra. What a little cutie she is... and so much fun! Grandpa Swede and Kendra played dollies for a long time, watched movies. Kendra danced for us and she ate the whole time she was here. Of course she loved the candy best of all and was our little sampler......we know she belongs to us because she loves that chocolate! Today, we heard she didn't want to eat any dinner last night though.....imagine that!.....the candy was so much better! Kendra gave lots of kisses to Grandpa and loved the baby doll, as it would talk in baby sounds, sucking sounds when drinking her bottle and even burped really loud when she fed it. She couldn't figure out why that baby doll snored when it fell asleep. We need Kendra here more.....don't think Grandpa Swede moved from playing with her all afternoon. When she left she gave him about a dozen kisses and would clap her hands after each kiss. In the past she didn't like his mustache tickling her and I think she was really proud of herself! Anyway, Great-Grandpa sure loved her and we all had so much fun together!

Happy Birthday Debbie! and more.

I have so much to write about.....I am a very blessed person! My good friend Karen LaOrange, invited me to go to the temple last Saturday! We did one session....what a great day! I know it is just what I needed. I had a wonderful experience! I did the work for a little lady from the Netherlands, born in the 1700's. Her names were the same as my own..(not coincidence, but amazing!) the weather was warm and beautiful. They were planting flowers on the temple grounds already. Sunday, when I went to church I felt so good, although my records still haven't been read in my new ward yet... I think that might be my problem?.....I joke about it saying I feel like a man without a country!....this week is Stake Conference, so it won't happen then either. During the week my brother David and mom Marie came to visit. It was so nice to see them. They brought me a beautiful picture of Christ, by Greg Olsen and a pretty white lamp for my house. It was a special day!
Our daughter Debbie was married on January 17th in Las Vegas to Craig Halverson, they are so happy and we are happy for them. It was her birthday on the 20th and we celebrated at DeAnn's for dinner and Birthday Cake. It was really nice. DeAnn posted pictures on her blog of it.
I will post pictures of the wedding as soon as I get them down loaded.
My brother, Gary, who lives in Beaver, has been really sick for a couple of weeks. He was in the Cedar Hospital! He went to emergency there. Even though he was under doctors care in Beaver, he became so dehyderated. He has a kidney transplant so it was really serious. The kidney could have quit working. He is home now, but still very ill. He was allergic to the meds he was put on and couldn't swallow for days. He is such an example of endurance to me. I put his name on the prayer roll at the temple. I just love my family so much and it's hard to see them hurting.....I pray for them everyday.
Tomorrow, Swede goes to the VA Hospital in Orem,, to the doctor and then on to Salt Lake for a cat-scan of his lungs. It is just his check up time. Sure hope the weather is good and all goes well.
Spring will be here before we know it.....I can go for that! Like that warm weather!
I talked to my good friend Nona, who lives in Winnemucca, this week. It is always nice to talk with her. I really miss her. We have lots in common. Her husband is having Gall Bladder Surgery this week.
My first cousin Mary's husband in Salt Lake is having surgery on Monday for colon cancer. I pray for him also. This has been one heck of a week! So much going on....I hope next week has all positive come to it.
I will post a picture of Debbie, being as it was her birthday on the 20th and our Laurie's was on the 16th. January and February are always both happy and sad months. We lost our Laurie and Swede's Mom in February. But had three beautiful daughters and a grandaughter born in those months and Swedes mom's birthday was Jan. 19th.
This is a pretty crazy life! full of so much, both happy and sad, but that is just what life was meant to be, so we can learn from it!
I have so much to be thankful for! and it is so fun to read and see all the neat blogs of our family and friends. All those little ones are just adorable and bring so much joy to our lives. Computer technology is wonderful!

I'm so blessed!

After the last depressing blog........I know I am so blessed. Does it take days like these to wake us up and think only of our great blessings? I am so blessed! I have a loving husband....our three children all live here in Milford. They are so wonderful, loving, thoughtful and helpful! What would we do without them? I especially miss our son and daughter, and all our loved ones who have already passed through the veil. I realized today that this time of year I always miss them so much! It doesn't matter how long they have been gone, it never really helps. The hole in your heart never heals. But, now I must remember where they are and Heavenly Father's plan. They are in a better place than we are! A great blessing!

God does answer Prayers!

Sometimes I feel so un-grateful! This week has been kind of a down week, Maybe because Swede and I have felt a little under the weather. ... but, I have to humble myself and admit I was feeling kind of sorry for myself.
I changed wards...I did bear my testimony last week, but didn't really feel good about it, and trembled the whole time and didn't really say what was truly in my heart. I loved everyone elses testimony. Everyone in my new ward was so nice and really welcomed me. Gospel Doctrine class and the lesson was really good. Relief Society was wonderful too, and I know most all of the sweet sisters. I'm not sure what was wrong with me!#?? Did I leave my comfort zone? Was I having a panic attack? Was I sad to leave my calling? People who I really love? I can go on and on......So I have spent alot of time on my knees this week. I didn't like feeling this way.
I know this was an answer to my prayers, when sister Ashley, called me and ask if I would like to help her with her R.S. lesson this Sunday?... I know Heavenly Father heard my prayers, knew my feelings and that I was trying to overcome whatever was bothering me. Honestly, I'm not sure what was wrong with me. There are just so many great people in the 3rd ward. In fact everyone is....I sat in my usually seats (creature of habit I am).
I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father and His love for me and all of us. I am thankful that I can be forgiven for my imperfections....and last, but not least, that He hears my prayers. And I know and love the people in the 3rd ward very much too.
I am looking forward to this Sunday! I know we are happier when we are in service of our God, and we can grow from the experience and I know our testimonies grow from them.
Ok! Now, I just poured my heart out! I will be alright and will be happy!
Love you all!

More pictures of our house.

Grandpa Swede's room...Craig (Debbie's fiance) gave him the beautiful painting on the wall for Christmas! It is a large moose with a real arrow on the bottom of it
This is the small bathroom...it has a tub/with shower.

This is a huge bathroom, with the mirror and vanity the full length of the room...it has a double walk-in shower. At the end of the room is a door into a very large walk in closet.

Master Bedroom, although you can't tell how big it is. This is a California King Bed.

Here is some pictures of our dining and kitchen area. To the left of the kitchen is a glass door which goes out onto a large completely covered patio. To the right of it is a large laundry room and the door into the double car plus, garage. Automatic door opener also. We are in heaven. This is the first new house we have ever owned. Our family all just fixed us up with some really lovely things for our house! We are spoiled!
I need to take outside pictures, but I don't think you want to see all the snow...it wouldn't do the home justice. I failed to take a picture of the small 3rd bedroom. I have the computer in it a T.V. and a couple of chairs....it is in the picture where my previous Christmas Tree and Lindsey Blog was. Swede calls it Grandma's Prayer room. I don't have it decorated yet, as I want it to be really special!
I will add a picture of our large entrance way. It is pictures of all the little one's, at another time, when I get it finished.

PICTURES OF MY NEW HOME

The Front room, Dining room, and kitchen are all open. It has a vaulted ceiling. My favorite is our new intertainment center.....and finally it was delivered on Christmas eve morning. I think I love it so much because I could put my picture of Christ above it and my plague the says, "Christ is the center of our home, a quest at every meal, a silent listener to every conversation". Our new matching leather recliners and love seat that has the double recliner is really nice too. Only one thing wrong with it....we fall asleep when we sit on them!
